We hand over your pharmacy details and the patient contacts you directly. This is the only point at which a connection fee applies — and after your included connections, the only thing it is ever charged on.
What a Connection Is Actually Worth
A connection fee is easy to judge against the wrong number.
It is not a cut of the prescription and it is not a monthly bill. It is what it costs to acquire one compounding patient, once. Whether that is a good trade depends on what a patient is worth to you over the course of therapy — so here is what we know, and here is the arithmetic on your own numbers.
We Only Ever See the First Fill
Fewer than one in ten connected patients has ever come back through Compounding Finder for the same medication. The rest reorder straight from the pharmacy that won them — which means the overwhelming majority of the relationship is invisible to us, and cannot be billed by us.
Compounded Scripts Refill
Across the compounded requests we can read cleanly, the median fill covers about 60 days. Capsules and tablets typically run 90 days, injectables 90, creams and troches 30. One connection is rarely one dispense.
Charged Per Connection, Not Per Refill
The fee is a one-time cost of acquiring a patient, not a share of the prescription. Judge it against what a new compounding patient is worth to you over the course of therapy, not against a single script.

We fill in the dispensing interval, because that is the part we have actually measured. The price and the length of the relationship are yours — we never see your refills, so we do not presume to guess at them.

The connection fee is 6% of that. The $300 after the first fill is billed by you, to your patient, on your terms.
These are your numbers, not our forecast. Dispensing intervals are the medians we observe across compounded requests; how long a patient actually stays on therapy varies by medication, by prescriber and by patient, and nothing here is a guarantee that a connected patient will fill even once.
And the prescriber comes with the patient
More than nine in ten patients who tell us their prescription status either already hold the script or have a prescriber ready to write it. Whatever that relationship becomes once the patient is yours is between your pharmacy and that practice. We do not route it, meter it or bill it.

Why is there a connection fee at all?
It is what it costs to put a ready-to-fill patient in front of you, and it is the only thing we charge for. We do not sell placement, we do not rank quotes by who pays, and we do not take a share of the prescription. Because the fee is charged per connection rather than per refill, the longer a patient stays with you the smaller it looks against what they are worth.
How much does it cost to join the Compounding Finder network?
Joining the network and submitting quotes has no upfront cost. Your first five patient connections are free. After that, a $25 connection fee applies only when a requester selects your quote and we connect them with your pharmacy. Office-use (503B) clinic-stock connections bill at $75 — each one hands a facility a recurring practice account, not a single fill — and 503B outsourcing facilities start with three free connections.
Am I charged again when the patient refills?
No. The fee is charged on the connection, not on the prescription. Refills are dispensed and billed by you, direct to your patient, and we are not part of that transaction — in practice we never even see it.
What happens when my quote isn't selected?
We tell you. Every request closes the loop with a short outcome email — whether the patient selected another option or declined all quotes — and no fee applies unless a patient selects you.
What if a connected patient never responds?
Reply to the connection email and we'll credit the connection fee. You should never pay for a connection that didn't give you a real shot at the patient.
Is patient information handled in a HIPAA-compliant way?
Yes. Compounding Finder operates as a business associate: patient handoffs happen under a signed Business Associate Agreement, and patient details are only shared with your pharmacy once a requester selects your quote. Our standard BAA and pharmacy terms are published on this site.
How do I receive patient quote requests?
When a patient submits a quote request for a medication your pharmacy compounds, we forward the quote request (anonymized) to your team via email.
What types of pharmacies can join?
We work with all types of compounding pharmacies across the U.S. Whether you're PCAB-accredited, specialize in sterile compounding, or focus on specific medication categories like hormones, peptides, or veterinary compounds — you're welcome to apply.
Do I have to respond to every quote request I receive?
Not at all. You only respond to quote requests you want to fulfill. If a medication falls outside your specialty or capacity, you can simply pass on that request — no penalty, no obligation.
