Compounding pharmacy ordering for clinics and telehealth
Telehealth brands, clinics and med spas order patient-specific compounded prescriptions from licensed U.S. compounding pharmacies that list their prices for clinics. Order in the portal or from your own system, and follow every order to delivery.
For practices that send compounded prescriptions every week
Telehealth brands
Send each prescription your prescribers sign straight from your own platform through the API, and get every status change back as a webhook.
Clinics and med spas
Order in the portal: search the medication, compare the prices pharmacies list for clinics, add the patient and sign. No fax queue and no calling around for a price.
Group practices
Through the API, each order names the prescriber who signed it. In the portal, your account has one prescriber profile, and that prescriber signs every order placed there. Every order ships to the patient or to your practice address on file.

Pharmacies that chose to list for clinics
A pharmacy appears to clinics only after it turns on clinic ordering and sets its clinic prices from its own price list. Until then it is never named or priced to a clinic. Clinic ordering opened on October 27, 2026, and pharmacies turn it on one at a time as they set their clinic prices.
What we check
- Every listed pharmacy is an active pharmacy in our network that has signed our pharmacy terms and a Business Associate Agreement with us.
- State license: a License verified badge when we have checked the pharmacy's license in the last 12 months and it is active.
- PCAB accreditation, shown only when it covers that kind of preparation, sterile or non-sterile.
- LegitScript certification, shown when we have verified it in the last 12 months.
- You only see pharmacies that can ship to your patient's state, and a price the pharmacy has not updated or confirmed in 180 days drops out until it does.
Test mode
Try every step before a real order
- Every account starts in test mode, ordering from the built-in Compounding Finder Test Pharmacy.
- Test orders never reach a real pharmacy and send no emails.
- Move a test order through accepted, shipped and delivered yourself, from the order page or the API.
- Webhooks fire for test orders too, so you can build your integration against them.
- Use made-up patient details only. Test prescriptions carry a "test order, not a valid prescription" watermark.
API and webhooks
Connect your own platform
- A REST API with separate test and live keys.
- Search listings, place and cancel orders, and read their status.
- Signed webhooks for every status change.
- A webhook your server does not acknowledge is retried about 1, 5 and 15 minutes, then 1, 3, 6, 12 and 24 hours after each failed attempt (retries go out from a scheduled job, so a retry can come several minutes later): nine attempts over about two days.
- Idempotency keys and your own order IDs, so a retried request never places a second order.
No platform fee for clinics.
You pay the pharmacy's listed price, and the pharmacy bills you directly.
How billing works
- The price you see is the pharmacy's own price for clinics, including any clinic discount it offers.
- Shipping is shown when the pharmacy lists it. Otherwise the pharmacy confirms it with you.
- The pharmacy invoices your practice, or your patient if your order says so. Compounding Finder does not take payment for orders.
- Each order keeps the prices from the moment you placed it.
What clinic ordering does, and does not do
Plain answers to the questions your compliance team will ask.
Patient-specific 503A prescriptions only
Every order is a prescription for one named patient, signed by a licensed prescriber. Office-use stock is not ordered here.
Request office-use (503B) quotes insteadNo controlled substances
Schedule II to V medications are refused. There is no electronic prescribing of controlled substances (EPCS) here, so send those from your EPCS-certified system.
GLP-1 orders are reviewed first
Each GLP-1 order needs a documented, patient-specific clinical reason. An order whose reason our check rejects is refused; one that passes waits for a person at Compounding Finder to approve it before the pharmacy sees it.
A Business Associate Agreement with every clinic and listed pharmacy
We sign a BAA with every clinic and every pharmacy that lists for clinics. Your practice accepts ours before its first live order, and order emails and webhooks carry no patient names or contact details.
Read the Provider Business Associate AgreementThe prescriber signs every prescription
In the portal, the prescriber signs with their typed name. Through the API, your system confirms that the named prescriber reviewed and signed it. We check prescriber NPIs against the CMS registry and hold an order for review when one does not match.
Your state's e-prescribing rules still apply
The signed prescription reaches the pharmacy as a document through our secure portal, not over an EHR e-prescribing network. Where a state requires electronic prescribing, the prescriber confirms the order meets its rules before signing.
Who can use clinic ordering?
Any practice can sign in, add its prescriber and practice details and place test orders straight away, before any verification. Live orders need an approved prescriber profile, a signed Business Associate Agreement and live access, which you ask for from your clinic dashboard.
What does it cost?
There is no platform fee for clinics. You pay the pharmacy's listed price, and the pharmacy bills you directly, or bills your patient if your order says so. Compounding Finder does not take payment for orders.
Which pharmacies can we order from?
Licensed U.S. compounding pharmacies in our network that have chosen to list their prices for clinics, limited to the ones that can ship to your patient's state. Each listing shows the pharmacy's name and city, its price, its shipping and turnaround where the pharmacy lists them, and the credentials we have verified.
What if the medication we need is not listed?
Search tells you how widely it is available, and you can send the prescription through free e-prescribing instead: licensed pharmacies quote it and your patient chooses one.
Can a pharmacy turn down an order?
Yes. A pharmacy can accept or decline any order, and gives a reason when it declines, such as being out of stock or a problem with the prescription. You see the reason and can order from another pharmacy.
Can we cancel an order?
Yes, until it ships. Before the pharmacy accepts an order, cancelling is immediate. After it accepts, you send a cancel request and the pharmacy either confirms it or tells you it is too late.
Can we order controlled substances, such as testosterone or ketamine?
No. Schedule II to V medications are refused, because clinic ordering has no electronic prescribing of controlled substances (EPCS). Send those from your EPCS-certified system.
Can we order office-use stock?
No. Every clinic order is a 503A prescription for one named patient. For stock to administer in your office, request quotes from FDA-registered 503B outsourcing facilities instead.
How do we connect our own system?
Accept the API terms on the Developers page of your clinic dashboard, create a test key and follow the API reference. Test keys only reach the test pharmacy, so you can build against real responses with made-up patients.
Does it connect to our EHR?
Not directly. Order in the web portal, or have your own platform send orders through the REST API. The signed prescription reaches the pharmacy as a document through our secure portal, not over an EHR e-prescribing network.
Do you sign a Business Associate Agreement?
Yes, with every clinic and every pharmacy that lists for clinics. Your practice accepts our Provider Business Associate Agreement before its first live order, and every pharmacy that lists for clinics has signed its own with us.

Try a whole order before you go live
Sign in with your practice email, search the catalog and send a test order. Nothing reaches a real pharmacy until your account is live.
