How does the quote process work?
Users complete a short form with medication details, dosage, quantity, and ZIP code. The platform distributes requests to licensed compounding pharmacies, returning quotes within 1–2 business days for comparison and selection.
How long does it take to receive quotes?
Quotes are not instant — they're returned by real pharmacists reviewing your request. Most patients receive quotes within 1–2 business days. Turnaround and shipping times vary by pharmacy and are included in each quote.
Is Compounding Finder free to use?
Yes, completely free for patients. No membership fees, hidden charges, or obligation to proceed with any quote.
Prescriptions & Medications
Do I need a prescription?
Most compounded medications require valid prescriptions from licensed providers. Prescriptions aren't necessary to request quotes but are required before pharmacies can fill orders.
What medications can be compounded?
Compounding pharmacies prepare medications in custom strengths, forms, and formulations — including capsules, tablets, creams, troches, and injectables. Examples: LDN, ketotifen, tirzepatide, hormone therapies, and others.
Can I request a specific form, like a capsule vs. tablet?
Yes, users can specify preferred forms when submitting requests. Pharmacies may suggest alternatives offering comparable effectiveness at lower cost or faster turnaround.
Pricing & Pharmacies
Why do prices vary between pharmacies?
Compounding is not a commodity — each pharmacy sources ingredients, sets pricing, and determines formulations independently. Location, overhead, ingredient quality, and volume all affect pricing.
How do I choose which pharmacy to go with?
The platform presents key details: total price (including shipping), turnaround time, and pharmacy notes. Selection depends on individual priorities — some emphasize cost, others need speed.
Are the pharmacies on Compounding Finder licensed?
Yes. All pharmacies in our network are licensed compounding pharmacies. Many hold PCAB accreditation or equivalent state credentials. Patients can verify licensing independently.
Privacy & Security
Is my personal information kept private?
Yes. Your contact information is only shared with the pharmacy you choose to move forward with — it is not distributed to all pharmacies who quote on your request. Data is not sold.
Should I send my prescription by email?
No. Please do not send your prescription via email. Selected pharmacies provide secure submission methods — typically fax, secure upload, or electronic transfer directly from providers.
After You Choose
What happens after I select a pharmacy?
The platform passes contact information to the selected pharmacy. Patients work directly with the pharmacy thereafter for prescription collection, fulfillment, and shipping.
What if I don't receive any quotes?
In rare cases, pharmacies may be unable to fulfill requests due to licensing restrictions or ingredient availability. If no quotes arrive within 2–3 business days, please contact support.
